Description

The Vineyards

The 2019 Nichole’s Blend Pinot Noir is the flagship of our Pinot Noirs made with fruit from Sonoma County vineyard, Desforges, as well as declassified barrels of our Vineyard Designated wines. From as far south as the Petaluma Gap, where the cold maritime breezes help to produce wines of excellent purity and elegance; to the east on top of Sonoma Mountain, with its volcanic soils which produce wines with structure and savoriness; to the far western edge of the Russian River Valley, which produces wines with richness and ripe dark fruit flavors. The resulting wine is an excellent example of the harmony between these distinctive regions within Sonoma County.

Winemaker Notes

The 2019 Nichole’s Blend announces its elegance at first sight with a gorgeous ruby-red hue, that runs to a translucent rose-petal at the edges. With an easy swirl the wine’s Pinot Noir character is revealed through an aromatic mélange of red-cherry fruits, sassafras root, orange peel, cherry bark, and vanilla. In the mouth, the vintage’s structure comes to the fore with a display of suave tannins and mouth-watering acidity, delivering a kaleidoscope of classic Pinot Noir flavors informed by sour cherry, blood orange, black tea and a stony minerality.

Vinification
