2022 Nichole’s Blend Sonoma County
$44.00
- Description
Vineyard Notes
The Nichole’s Blend Pinot Noir is the flagship of our Pinot Noirs, made with fruit from declassified barrels of our Sonoma County Vineyard Designated wines. These vineyards range from as far south as the Petaluma Gap, where the cold maritime breezes help to produce wines of excellent purity and elegance; to the east on top of Sonoma Mountain, with its volcanic soils which produce wines with structure and savoriness; to the far western edge of the Russian River Valley, which produces wines with richness and ripe dark fruit flavors. The resulting wine is an excellent example of the harmony between these distinctive regions within Sonoma County.
Winemaker Notes
Bright, snappy red fruits dominate on the entry, couched in the rich, endearing complexities of being raised in French oak barrels. Traversing down the palate, Frostwatch’s later-picked terroir comes to the fore with a cooling transparency informed by strawberries and freshly-tilled earth. Easing into the finish, these complimentary personalities meld into a pleasing and stunningly complete whole.
